"Helping to serve and protect the health of our community"
The Nevada Board of Plumbing Examiners was founded in 2002 as a non-profit organization. In 2008, the plumbing boards from both the north and south merged and now are one. Nevada was reported to be one of the fastest growing states in the United States. The skilled (certified and licensed) workforce that supports this growth has continued to dimish in size and educational development.
The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors of Nevada (PHCC), Mechanical Contractors Association of Southern Nevada (MCA), Pipe Trades Apprenticeship and Journeyman Training Commiteee, International Association of Electrical Inspectors and the National Electrical Contractors Association of Southern Nevada (NECA) and similar groups from northern Nevada met and supported a proposal to reclaim journeyman and master testing and licensing from an out-of-state testing agency.
The Nevada Board of Plumbing Examiners is contracted with the Clark County Department of Development Services/Building Division to administer the Journeyman and Master plumbing exam. The board of directors is comprised of licensed plumbing professionals from industry, U.A. Local 525, U. A. Local 350, PHCC, ABC, NAM and code officials from northern and southern Nevada.
